摘要: [1] The bow shock is created in front of an obstacle immersed into a supersonic flow and its location depends on the size shape obstacle. It was found that (magnetopause) scaled with solar wind dynamic pressure changes dimensions dipole tilt angle interplanetary magnetic field orientation. Similar functional dependencies would be expected for position, however, none models considers parametrization properties angle. The present study employs set crossings registered during 1994–2002 by different spacecraft demonstrates influence location. based comparison recent model observations shows night–side moves direction positive ZGSM axis angles. magnitude displacement can reach ≈3 RE. analysis reveals high–latitude surface significantly distorted near dawn–dusk meridian. This effect identified as counterpart magnetopause indentation cusp region.
