Drawing from social self-preservation theory, we derive predictions regarding effects interactional on activity in hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenocortical (HPA) axis, which one bodys hormonal systems for responding to stress. Using an experimental design with objective measures, found support our hypothesis triggers release cortisol by HPA axis. This turn mediated deviant behavior. indirect effect remained significant after controlling established attitudinal and self-construal mediators justicedeviance relationship.
