摘要: CpG islands are short, dispersed regions of unmethylated DNA with a high frequency dinucleotides relative to the bulk genome. We have analyzed 375 genes and 58 pseudogenes from human entries in EMBL Database for presence islands. All 240 identified associated genes, almost all cover at least part one exon; i.e., they useful landmarks genome identifying genes. More than half were housekeeping widely expressed island covering transcription start, whereas 40% tissue-specific or limited expression In this latter group position was not biased toward 5' end unit.
