摘要: Purpose. Self-expandable metallic stents (SEMS) have been widely used in obstructive lesions. They are an alternative treatment for colorectal tumors. In this article, we retrospectively review our experience with placement of colonic palliative metastatic cancers and inoperable cancers. Methods. From March 2004 to 2007, inserted SEMS 15 patients. A retrospective chart was undertaken at the China Medical University Hospital. For all patients, surgical not considered initially or patients refused surgery. We analyzed technical clinical success rates stent placement. All were characterized terms age, localization tumor, complications, morbidity mortality, necessity further interventions. Results. Our subjects included eight males seven females, a mean age 66 years (range 42-94 years). Sites lesion six upper rectum, four rectosigmoid junction, three sigmoid colon , one descending splenic flexure colon. The successfully implanted 12 bowel obstruction relieved patients; rate 80% 60%. Two related perforations required emergency operation on 4th 18th day after implantation. survival time (stent implantation death) ten stage IV (n=10) 7 months 1-16months). Four had complications. general, there no stent-related mortality. Conclusions. malignancy- induced is technically feasible, but it has higher study. Colonic option obstructed malignancy, encouraged every patient. When use SEMS, surgeon gastroenterologist should evaluate benefits cost effectiveness
