摘要: Abstract Objectives To describe the subtypes of lymphocytes in coronary arteries two patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and artery disease (CAD). Materials methods The Mayo Clinic database was searched for RA CAD who underwent an autopsy 2001. Medical records were reviewed, examined microscopically. percentage B- T-lymphocytes determined using histomorphometry on representative sections stained CD20 CD3 antibodies, respectively. Results Two men diagnosed at ages 52 70 years died 60 82 years. One sustained acute myocardial infarction 2 prior to diagnosis had stable until arrhythmic death. other developed congestive heart failure secondary ischemic 5 after diagnosed. Both severe three-vessel both fibrocalcific plaques lesions. identified plaque adventitia all arteries. mean B-lymphocytes 37% 52% 78% 85% adventitia, while that 38% 51% 28%, Conclusions In typical CAD, lymphocytic infiltrates are almost exclusively T-cells. contrast, showed prominent within adventitia. Thus, leukocytic response atherosclerotic may be altered autoimmune disorders. This warrants further study.
