摘要: Sleep-related breathing disorders are common causes of excessive daytime sleepiness, a socially and clinically relevant problem. Mechanisms responsible for sleepiness still largely unknown. We investigated whether specific alterations in autonomic cardiac modulation during sleep, commonly associated with sleep-related disorders, related to sleepiness. Fifty-three patients underwent nocturnal polysomnography. Excessive was diagnosed as Multiple Sleep Latency Test response less than or equal 600 s. explored the relation objectively determined, indices regulation, such baroreflex sensitivity heart rate variability, polysomnographic severity quality sleep. Patients when compared without, had significantly lower higher low-to-high frequency power ratio variability different stages By contrast, no differences were found quantifying sleep quality. demonstrated that is accompanied by deranged control at night, latter probably reflecting arousals not detectable EEG. As abnormal regulation also known be increased cardiovascular risk, possible between events deserves future studies.
