摘要: A new exponential approximation function is implemented into a variable gain amplifier (VGA). The newly proposed VGA topology provides low-power, small chip size, and wide control range. fabricated in 0.18/spl mu/m CMOS technology measurements show variation of more than 84dB two cascaded stages, 80dB-linear range with linearity error less /spl plusmn/1dB. PldB varies from -42dBm to -22dBm. power dissipation 3.6mA 1.8V supply. excluding bondpads occupies 0.4mm/sup 2/.
