摘要: Abstract Docosahexaenoic acid [22:6(n-3); 22:6(4,-7,10,13,16,19) (DHA)] is required in quantity by the developing nervous system of fetus. This need could be met through synthesis DHA from linolenic fetus or placental transfer directly. To study n-3 fatty acids, we obtained umbilical and maternal blood samples 26 healthy women infants at parturition measured composition content both plasma erythrocytes. A striking finding was a considerable venous-arterial difference for erythrocytes as proportion total acids absolute concentration. 2.2 micrograms per billion 6 times larger than fetal plasma, when erythrocyte concentrations were normalized to whole blood. Most other showed similar trend. In significant differences found 16:0, 16:1, 18:2, saturated acids. There trend most Compared with blood, had higher levels 20:4 lower 18:2 18:3(n - 3) These results suggest that play major role necessary transport essential into
