摘要: Abstract 5-Hydroxytryptamine (5-HT, serotonin) in the brain regulates energy balance through different mechanisms. Identification and cloning of 5-HT receptors, pharmacology, genetic mouse models with 5-HT-receptor mutations have facilitated discoveries regarding complex effects signals on feeding behavior body weight balance. More importantly, some analogues are used clinically to treat obesity eating disorders. In this chapter we outlined (1) roles receptors regulation balance, (2) 5-HT–responsive neurocircuits that relevant for control, (3) drugs targeting treatment obesity.
