摘要: T1 and T2 were measured in 5 formalin-fixed human whole-brain specimens as a function of time. Gray matter/white matter contrast reversal was observed around the 4th day considered to be due greater decrease gray than white matter. A possible explanation for this is that decomposition myelin phospholipid structure by formalin somewhat counteracts general reductive effect fixation procedure on relaxation times.
