摘要: Cultivated Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua) entering their first year of gamete maturation were fed diets with different levels arachidonic acid (ARA) and eicosapentaenoic (EPA) for 6.5 months prior to commencement spawning. Gravid females stripped three times: at the beginning, peak end Lipid composition egg larval quality 34 family crosses investigated. Results indicated that ARA uptake into eggs from broodstock diet was highly efficient achieving proportions up 84% higher in than diet. EPA 42–76% higher, DHA 155–173% diets. Cod lowest EPA/ARA ratio had greatest production. Eggs fish on a high level significantly fertilization hatching success those low ARA. This produced average 71 viable eggs g−1 female compared 32.5 4 B C, respectively. Furthermore, survival until 8 days posthatch lower levels. The combined results showed dietary supplementation yielded greater number larvae kg−1 female.
