摘要: Trigeminal ganglia neurons express the GABAA receptor subunit alpha 6 (Gabrα6) but role of this particular in orofacial hypersensitivity is unknown. In report function Gabrα6 was tested by reducing its expression trigeminal and measuring effect reduction on inflammatory temporomandibular joint (TMJ) hypersensitivity. reduced infusing male Sprague Dawley rats with small interfering RNA (siRNA) having homology to either gene (Gabrα6 siRNA) or no known (control siRNA). Sixty hours after siRNA infusion received a bilateral TMJ injection complete Freund’s adjuvant induce an response. Hypersensitivity then quantitated meal duration, which lengthens when increases. Neuronal activity also measured quantitating amount phosphorylated ERK. Rats different group that did not have inflammation had electrode placed spinal cord at level C1 sixty record extracellular electrical responded stimulation. Our results show expressed both satellite glia positive within afferents TMJ. 30% significantly lengthened duration inflammation. increased p-ERK without These suggest maintaining necessary inhibit primary sensory pathway reduce nociception.
