摘要: Females report temporomandibular joint (TMJ) pain more than men and studies suggest estrogen modulates this response. Our goal in study was to determine genes that are modulated by physiological levels of 17β-estradiol could have a role TMJ pain. To complete goal, saline or Freund's adjuvant injected the when plasma low it at high proestrus level. TMJ, trigeminal ganglion, subnucleus caudalis/upper cervical cord junction (Vc/C(1-2) ) tissues were isolated from treated rats expression 184 quantitated each tissue using real-time PCR. Significant changes amount specific transcripts observed tissues, ganglia, Vc/C(1-2) region comparing with estrogen. GABA A receptor subunit α6 (Gabra6) glycine α2 (Glra2) two interest because their direct function neuronal activity >29-fold increase ganglia inflammation. Immunohistochemical showed Gabrα6 Glrα2 not glial increased Estrogen receptors α β present neurons whereby can alter Glrα2. Also, (ERα) but ERβ satellite cells ganglia. These results demonstrate associated neurogenic inflammation excitability altered concentration 17β-estradiol.
