摘要: Ten years after the first global rankings appeared, it is clear that they have had an extraordinary impact on higher education. While there are fundamental questions about whether measure either quality or what's meaningful, succeeded in exposing education to international comparison. More so, because of important role plays as a driver economic development, exposed both information deficit and national competitiveness. Accordingly, nations institutions sought maximise their position vis-a-vis with positive perverse effects. Their legacy evident way become implicit — often explicit – reference point for policymaking decision-making, reinforced evaluative state's over-reliance quantitative indicators quality. They embedded popular discourse, informed behaviour many stakeholders, within outside academy. This paper reflects three inter-related issues; i) considers heightened policy investment interest education, ii) discusses modifications resolved some what measure, iii) looks at how influenced stakeholder behaviour. Finally, we learned outstanding issues.
