Dissociation between behavioral effects and changes in metabolism of cerebral serotonin following 9 -tetrahydrocannabinol.

摘要: Behavioral changes, reaction times in analgesic tests and effects on metabolism of cerebral serotonin (5 HT) were monitored male Sprague-Dawley rats following the administration ofδ 9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) as a propylene glycol-serum complex. THC (5.5 mg/kg i.p. 1.0 i.v.) produced characteristic reproducible behavioral effects, including catalepsy squealing, well significant increases time determined both hot plate tail flick for analgesia. Intraventricular injection caused many changes seen after systemic drug. The levels 5 HT its principle metabolite, 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid HIAA) measured forebrain brainstem THC. No change level either indole was observed. Moreover, did not alter turnover by probenecid method increase pargyline. It may thus be concluded that doses which produce modifications do dynamics serotonergic system.
