摘要: Chromosomes and genes are nonrandomly arranged within the mammalian cell nucleus. However, functional significance of nuclear positioning in gene expression is unclear. Here we directly probed relationship between activity by comparing location active inactive copies a monoallelically expressed single nuclei. We demonstrate that astrocyte-specific marker GFAP (glial fibrillary acidic protein) cortical astrocytes. Selection allele occurs stochastic manner generally maintained through division. Taking advantage monoallelic GFAP, show functionally distinct alleles occupy differential radial positions nucleus differentially associate with intranuclear compartments. In addition, coordinately regulated on chromosomes spatially their state dissociate upon activation. These results provide direct evidence for function-related individual interphase
