摘要: Abstract Background/Purpose: The benefits of laparoscopic resection for Crohn's disease have been well established in the adult literature. This modality more recently has applied to children. authors report their experience this age group. Methods: A prospective series all pediatric patients treated laparoscopically one surgical practice was studied demographic data, operative details, and outcome. Results: Fifteen with diagnosis disease, ages 9 17 years, underwent ileocolic between February 1998 2002. Patients' weights ranged from 42 80 kg. All had fixed strictures involving terminal ileum ileocecal valve failed medical therapy. 4-port approach (one 12-mm 3 5-mm) utilized cases. Resection anastomosis performed intracorporeally, specimen retrieved through port site. average operating time 110 minutes (range, 90 180 minutes). Oral feedings were started after 24 hours nasogastric suction. Hospital stay averaged 4 days 8 days). One patient a fever on postoperative day 3. Contrast study showed small anastomotic leak no associated collection, responded conservative management. other whose pathologic questioned initial presented an stricture redo good No complications noted, symptom free at follow-up.
