摘要: ENDOTHELIAL cell leukocyte adhesion molecule-1 (ELAM-1) has been described as an inducible endothelial cell-adhesion molecule for neutrophils, and is believed to have a key role in the extravasation of these cells at sites acute inflammation1–3. Here we report that ELAM-1-transfected COS also bind unique skin-associated subset circulating memory T defined by expression cutaneous lymphocyte-associated antigen4,5. expressing this antigen least well neutrophils expressed ELAM-1, whereas other lymphocytes peripheral blood poorly, or not all. Immunohistological survey chronically inflamed tissue specimens revealed vascular ELAM-1 occurs preference noncutaneous sites. We conclude chronic inflammation, may function skin addressin, tissue-selective skin-homing lymphocytes.
