摘要: Although differences in selective attention skills have been identified children from lower compared to higher socioeconomic status (SES) backgrounds, little is known about these early childhood, a time of rapid development. The current study evaluated the development neural systems for SES backgrounds. Event-related potentials (ERPs) were acquired 33 and 14 backgrounds during dichotic listening task. group was followed longitudinally one year. At age four, exhibited significant effect (larger ERP response attended unattended condition), an not observed group. five, comparable overall magnitude that 4-year-old group, but with poorer distractor suppression condition). Together, findings suggest both maturational delay divergent developmental pattern mechanisms young Furthermore, highlight importance studying neurodevelopment within narrow ranges diverse
