摘要: Abstract Background: We did a prospective study in Atlanta, Georgia, during 1991 on the rate of systemic reactions caused by immunotherapy clinic that uses aqueous allergen extracts. Methods: Immunotherapy were monitored. Symptoms recorded with respect to time onset, involvement respiratory tract or skin, and presence hypotension. Results: There 98 96 patients (1 per 1600 visits 1 47 patients). was no direct relationship seasonal pollen counts. was, however, correlation August October increase mold between age patient extract. Patients more likely experience reaction buildup phase than maintenance therapy. The onset severity agreement previous reports. Severe included hypotension all occurred less 30 minutes after injection. In contrast reports, asthma not at higher risk for reaction. Conclusion: has significant but low Potentially serious may be mitigated taking extra precautions earlier phases an program seasons when counts are high. (J ALLERGY CLIN IMMUNOL 1995;95:8-14.)
