摘要: Summary We present a new method of traveltime tomography. In this method, the between source and receiver is described by an analytical function, which consists series expansion geometrical coordinates locations. As derived from eikonal equation, function must also satisfy equation. This condition imposes strong constraint on uniqueness function. The coefficients are estimated minimizing misfit observed time in least-squares sense. Once known, turns out to be form expansion, provides velocity medium. Thus there two functions, one defining other slowness, they can used for pre-stack depth migration model definition. feasibility approach first tested synthetic data set then applied real set. tomography significant gain computation compared with ray-tracing techniques. easily extended incorporate reflection has potential solving 3-D seismic global seismology inverse problems.
