Association between socioeconomic status, type 2 diabetes and its chronic complications in Argentina.

摘要: Abstract Aim To compare the socioeconomic status (SES) of people with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) in Argentina (Cordoba) and without major chronic complications diabetes, that recorded persons matched by age gender. Methods For this descriptive analytic case–control study, potential candidates were identified from electronic records one institution Social Security System city Cordoba. We recruited 387 each T2DM or 774 gender- age-matched (recruitment rate, 83%). Data obtained telephone interviews supplemented data institution's records. Group comparisons performed parametric non-parametric tests as appropriate. used ordinary least squares to regress household income difference between expenses on status, age, sex, education body mass index. Results Persons T2DM, particularly those complications, reported fewer years general (13.6 ± 4.2 vs. 12.2 ± 4.4 years), a lower percentage full time jobs (43.0% 26.9%), salaries monthly among full-time (> 5000 ARG$: 52.6% 24.5%), higher propensity spend more money than they earned (expenditure/income ratio ≥ 1: 10.2% 16.0%). The unmarried was also (7.0% 10.9%). Conclusion development its are positively associated SES greater economic distress Argentina.
