Haematological changes in the blood of cultured Clarias gariepinus stored at room and refrigerator temperatures

摘要: This study investigated the artifactual changes in haematological values of Clarias gariepinus blood stored at room (32 o C) and refrigerator (4 temperatures. Blood samples were collected from 12 apparently healthy fish weighing between 0.8 1kg. Samples divided into two parts immediately after collection baseline haematological determined. Haematological determinations thereafter carried out 6 hourly intervals up to 36th hour then 48th hour. Results showed significant reduction (p 0.05) the refrigerator temperature. There increases observed refrigerator temperature. reductions both temperatures all through duration study. Reliable RBC count can be obtained 12th hour; WBC MCH 30th hour; PCV, MCV MCHC and HBC temperature while temperature, reliable values all parameters determined except WBC count that storage.
