摘要: Abstract Background/Aims: Recent studies with neurofilament antibodies as neuronal markers have shown subpopulations of myenteric neurons that do not contain proteins. Novel intermediate filament proteins α-internexin, peripherin, and nestin been identified. The aim this study was to examine the distribution these novel filaments in comparison neurofilaments plexus neurons. Methods: Using indirect immunofluorescence techniques whole-mount cryostat sections from neonate adult rat small intestine primary cultures neurons, neurofilaments, studied marker protein gene product (PGP) 9.5 Results: Sixty-five percent contained triplet proteins, α-lnternexin and/or peripherin were found neurofilament-negative PGP present 80% Of negative,95% or α-internexin. Nestin either but seen glial cells culture. Conclusions: results suggest a subpopulation lacks contains both. This selective enteric may support differential roles structurally unique
