摘要: The efficacy of aerial baiting with 1080 poison (sodium fluoroacetate) for the control wild dogs (Canis familiaris and C. dingo) in temperate rangelands north-eastern New South Wales was studied. In each year from 1991 to 1993, 2 indices abundance dogs, one a raw count sets footprints per km transect (SF) other an ln-transformed frequency corrected sightability signs (CI), were used quantify changes caused by baiting. Abundance at nil-treatment site estimated concurrently. SF index found be efficacious. Both measures showed efficacious 1992 1993. Reductions 66.3-84.5% treatment CI measure. measure displayed 76.1-91.1%. measured prior annual 1993 similar, indicating that populations returned their initial within 1 year.
