摘要: Secretagogin (SCGN) is a recently discovered calcium binding protein of the EF hand family. We studied structural features SCGN-positive neurons in mouse main olfactory bulb (MOB). were localized throughout layers but clustered glomerular layer (GL), mitral cell (MCL) and granule (GCL). They heterogeneous, including numerous juxtaglomerular neurons, cells, small to medium-sized external plexiform (EPL), few cells ependymal/subependymal layer. Calretinin and/or tyrosine hydroxylase occasionally colocalized neurons. also frequently EPL GCL Morphologically some classical periglomerular whereas others apparently different from those although they further heterogeneous. Some extended one slender process into glomerulus which passed penetrated another nearby glomeruli, thus their dendritic processes spanned two or three more glomeruli. named this type "transglomerular cells." With stereological analysis we estimated total number at about 80,000/single MOB. The present study revealed diversity MOB particular properties hitherto unknown.
