摘要: The processes by which the involuting mammary gland clears residual milk and fat, as well apoptotic cells, have gone largely unstudied in modern literature. Here we review evidence for against involvement of professional phagocytes hematopoetic lineage this process. Additionally present that epithelial cells themselves are capable phagocytosis may be responsible majority cell clearance during murine involution. In scheme these regulate their cytokine production response to a manner similar other including macrophages. ensuing model describes process involution actively suppresses an inflammatory gland, allowing effective tissue remodeling damage prevention.
