The Relationship between Weight Status, Health-Related Quality of Life, and Life Satisfaction in a Sample of Spanish Adolescents

摘要: Excess weight has been associated with numerous psychosocial problems and is considered to be one of the most important health today. The aim this study analyze relationship between status, which evaluated by means body mass index (BMI), health-related quality life (HRQoL) satisfaction (LS) variables in Spanish adolescents, as well examine whether gender influences interrelationship. A total 1197 subjects studying their 1st 4th years high school (mean age: 14.4 years, SD: 1.69) participated completing Health Behavior School-Aged Children (HBSC) questionnaire. Then, participants were grouped into following categories: underweight, normal weight, overweight, obese. results show that boys have significantly higher HRQoL levels LS. On other hand, only obese group shows lower scores both LS than those normal-weight group. interaction category does not a significant impact on analyzed (HRQoL or LS).
