摘要: Chlamydia trachomatis and pneumoniae together comprise the most frequent causative pathogens that elicit reactive arthritis (ReA). Advances in our understanding of molecular biology/molecular genetics these organisms have improved significantly ability to detect chlamydiae joint for diagnostic purposes, as well extending current pathogenic processes they elsewhere. An important aspect latter is synovial infect an unusual but metabolically active state. While some standard treatments can provide a palliative effect on ReA disease phenotype, many reports indicated antibiotic treatment does not cure. Of critical importance, however, two recent controlled clinical trials demonstrated Chlamydia-ReA be treated successfully using combination therapy. These observations offer opportunity cure this disease, thereby increasing practical importance awareness diagnosis spondyloarthritis caused by Chlamydia. In viewpoint, we overview key findings epidemiology, pathophysiology, manifestations, Chlamydia-induced arthritis. Our intention insights translated rapidly into practice overcome misdiagnosis underdiagnosis them stimulate continued development
