摘要: Vortex states of weakly-interacting Bose-Einstein condensates confined in three-dimensional rotating harmonic traps are investigated numerically at zero temperature. The ground state the frame is obtained by propagating Gross-Pitaevskii equation for condensate imaginary time. total energies between with and without a vortex compared, yielding critical rotation frequencies that depend on anisotropy trap number atoms. Vortices displaced from center nonrotating found to have long lifetimes sufficiently large numbers relationship stability bound core explored.
