摘要: Purpose of review This will provide updates on the neurobiology stress, with specific focus transmitting mechanism intricacies integrating stress-related information, variability in response to stressors and clinical interventions. Recent findings Neuropeptides have been implicated as a potential modulator for pathological stress via effects neurogenesis, alterations functional states cortico-limbic circuits possible neuroprotection. Glucocorticoid receptors mineralocorticoid limbic modulation changes hypothalamic pituitary adrenal axis activity corticosteroid signalling feedback regulation. Chronic genetic susceptibility found promote intracellular mitochondrial cellular DNA damage resulting structural neuroanatomy neural circuitries. Summary The interplay neuroendocrine system appears be influenced by expression, neurochemical messenger inflammatory cytokine that impact circuitries affect both central nervous structure function. These neurobiological contributions alluded contributors psychopathologies. Clinical interventions psychotropics, mind body therapies behavioural attenuate reverse responses.
