摘要: This work offers a general overview on the evolving strategies for proteomic analysis of snake venoms, and discusses how these may be combined through diverse experimental approaches with goal achieving more comprehensive knowledge compositional, toxic, immunological characteristics venoms. Some recent developments in this field are summarized, highlighting have evolved from mere cataloguing venom components (proteomics/venomics), to broader exploration their (antivenomics) functional (toxicovenomics) characteristics. Altogether, combination complementary is helping build wider, integrative view life-threatening protein cocktails produced by venomous snakes, responsible thousands deaths every year.
