摘要: We analyzed the antimicrobial potential of a novel furan fatty acid, 7,10-epoxyoctadeca-7,9-dienoic acid (7,10-EODA) against methicillin-resistant and -sensitive S. aureus (MRSA MSSA). The anti-staphylococcal activity 7,10-EODA its consequences on cell physiology was determined by disc diffusion, broth microdilution, flow cytometry. Anti-virulence evaluated bioassays. with minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) range 125-250 mg/L. exhibited dose response inhibited MRSA 01ST001 90.5% ATCC 29213 (MSSA) 85.3% at 125 MIC permeabilized >95 % cells to small molecules. Sublethal non-toxic but markedly reduced hemolytic, coagulase, autolytic activities MSSA 15.6 results provide lead for utilization natural acids as anti-MRSA agents.
