摘要: Objective To assess the accuracy of determination Helicobacter pylori infection by a stool immunoassay in patients with upper-gastrointestinal bleeding (UGB) peptic origin, comparison routine histological study, serology, rapid urease and 13 C-breath tests. Methods Sixty-eight endoscopically proven UGB origin were included. The presence H. was considered when observed on histology or, if negative, positive indications two remaining tests (serology, urease, test). estimated according to results obtained other diagnostic methods. Results Lesions causing gastrointestinal 49 duodenal ulcers, 11 gastric six pyloric channel acute lesions mucosa, 16 erosive duodenitis. present 59 (86.76%) patients. Forty-one had received nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. sensitivity specificity methods 47.5% 100% for test, 93% 87.5% breath 86.4% 77.7% 89.4% histology, 96.6% 33.3% test Conclusions detection antigen stools has good (96.6%) but low (33.3%) diagnosis infection, which probably makes this an inadequate tool setting utilized alone.
