Influence of storage conditions Nothobranchius guenther on the sensitivity of the larvae to toxic stress

摘要: In view of the need for more practical and low cost tests routine purposes, research on development a culture-free microbiotest with fish species is being carried out at Laboratory Biological Research in Aquatic Pollution, University Ghent Belgium. The annual cyprinodont Nothobranchius guentheri, was selected as test organism because its (unique) ability to postpone eggs by diapause different embryonic stages. present study deals response toxic stress N. guentheri larvae hatched from stored under conditions. Toxicity newly were conducted potassium dichromate (K2Cr207) sodium pentachlorophenol (NaPCP) toxicants. 96h LC50 median survival time used endpoints. results show that both chemicals acute (96h LC50) not affected storage conditions eggs. turn, 30°C appeared be less compared those 20°C 24°C when endpoint. Further investigations toxicants are required confirm these preliminary findings.
