摘要: Hematopoietic growth factors are naturally occurring glycoproteins that stimulate the proliferation of hematopoietic cells [1–3]. Initial discovery was based on proliferative activity identified by in vitro assay systems. Erythropoietin (EPO) stimulates erythrocyte maturation, granulocyte-colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) neutrophil proliferation, and granulocyte-macrophage-colony-stimulating (GM-CSF) neutrophil, monocyte, macrophage proliferation. These three recombinant cytokines have been approved Food Drug Administration (FDA) for clinical use being evaluated patients undergoing bone marrow or peripheral blood stem cell transplantation.
