摘要: In addition to its roles in sugar metabolism, fructose-1,6-bisphosphate aldolase (aldolase) has been implicated cellular functions independent from these roles, termed “moonlighting functions.” These moonlighting likely involve the known aldolase–actin interaction, as many proteins with which interacts are involved actin-dependent processes. Specifically, both vitro and cells Wiskott–Aldrich Syndrome Protein (WASP), a protein controlling actin dynamics, yet function of this interaction remains unknown. Here, effect on WASP-dependent processes is investigated. Aldolase inhibits WASP/Arp2/3-dependent polymerization vitro. cells, knockdown results decreased rate cell motility spreading, two Expression exogenous rescues defects. Whether effects were due catalysis or tested using variants defective either catalytic actin-binding activity. While deficient variant unable inhibit rescue defects catalytically inactive able perform functions, providing evidence that plays role WASP-mediated J. Cell.
