摘要: During a general malacological survey for freshwater gastropods in northern Patagonia, population of Biomphalaria was encountered at Agua Escondida. spp. are pulmonates biomedical importance, uncommon Mendoza Province, and often act as intermediate hosts Schistosoma mansoni. By looking both morphological molecular characters, we describe detailed process identification characterization peregrina from location towards the extremity its species range. A reference DNA ‘barcode’ is presented. As B. has been shown to be permissive experimental host S. mansoni, snails were also screened field schistosomiasis later laboratory using novel polymerase chain reaction-based assay but no infections found.
