摘要: In a multicenter randomized trial of treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), three methods determining prostate size were used. Data on sequential measurements volume in patients taking placebo used to determine the variability techniques. Suprapubic ultrasound scanning with dimensions demonstrated coefficient variation 30 %. Prostate determined by transrectal and had 12%. Step-section planimetry offered lowest variability, 5%, should be method choice clinical studies BPH.
