A self-powered one-touch blood extraction system: a novel polymer-capped hollow microneedle integrated with a pre-vacuum actuator

摘要: Blood is the gold standard sample medium that can provide a wide variety of useful biological information for diagnosis various diseases. For portable point-of-care diagnosis, blood extraction systems have attracted attention as easier, safer, and more rapid methods collecting small volumes. In this paper, we introduce novel self-powered one-touch system created by assembling smart polymer-capped hollow microneedle in pre-vacuum polydimethylsiloxane actuator. The optimized was precisely fabricated drawing lithography minimally invasive extraction, with length 1800 μm, an inner diameter 60 outer 130 bevel angle 15°. utilizes only single step operation; finger press activates sampling process based on negative pressure-driven force built into activated A sufficient volume (31.3 ± 2.0 μl) successfully extracted from rabbit evaluation using micro total analysis system. entire made low-cost disposable materials to achieve easy operation miniature structure meet challenging requirements single-use application without use any external power equipment.
