Phonons and the electronic gap in FeSi

摘要: The partial phonon densities of states iron atoms in the intermetallic compound FeSi have been measured temperature range 46–297 K using nuclear resonant inelastic scattering synchrotron radiation. A significant softening with increasing has established. greatest for is shown to occur region long-wavelength acoustic phonons, branches near boundary Brillouin zone, and low-lying weakly dispersive optical branches. results obtained are analyzed terms views that relate change density evolution electronic state compound.
