摘要: Hemispheric language dominance, as determined by intracarotid short-acting barbiturate injections (Wada testing), was retrospectively evaluated in 44 right-handed patients with medically intractable left (n=26) or right (n=18) temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE). Atypical hemispheric dominance (right bilateral) revealed 13.6% of all investigated. A significantly higher rate deviance from complete hemisphere observed TLE (23.1%) than (0%). Patient age at the time seizure onset proven a critical variable affecting atypical speech development TLE. The mean patient representation 5.61 years, but 13.13 years dominance. Our results strongly support influential impact epileptiform activity spreading structures on reorganization functions early brain injury.
