摘要: AbstractWe tested the in vitro bactericidal activity of moxifloxacin, a new 8-methoxyquinolone, alone and combination with vancomycin or teicoplanin at different multiples minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) against 8 methicillin-ciprofloxacin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (M-C-RSA) 1 methicillin-ciprofloxacin susceptible S. (M-C-SSA) recently isolated from device-associated infections unresponsive to relapsing after glycopeptide therapy, despite device removal. MICs ranged 4 μg/ml, 2 μg/ml; moxifloxacin were always μg/ml M-CRSA isolates 0.125 M-C-SSA isolate. The 9 strains resulted tolerant when for vancomycin, teicoplanin, used 2xMIC. In all cases appeared be already MIC glycopeptides plus 0.5xMIC moxifloxacin. If these results are ...
