摘要: A genetic component to asthma and atopy has long been suggested by studies that demonstrate increased prevalence among first-degree relatives of affected individuals greater concordance rates monozygotic compared with dizygotic twins (reviewed in reference 72 ). Such "clustering" families is consistent a cause but may also reflect the effects shared environmental exposures. As result, familial clustering does not prove cause. Although segregation analyses have provided additional support for these common disorders, 7,35,62,66,70 direct evidence susceptibility genetically determined requires identifying specific genes confer atopy. This article reviews status focusing on chromosomal regions shown linkage phenotypes multiple data sets from independent studies.
