Prevalence of hepatitis C Virus infection among hemophiliacs in Central Brazil.

摘要: In order to investigate the hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection prevalence and risk factors in hemophiliacs Central Brazil, 90 patients were interviewed serum samples tested for HCV RNA anti-HCV antibodies. An overall of 63.3% (CI 95%: 53.0-72.7) was found. Multivariate analysis showed that number blood transfusions significantly associated with this infection. Most received locally produced cryoprecipitate. All infected transfused before screening units anti-HCV. However, who exclusively screened cryoprecipitate negative. It confirms expected decline transfusion-acquired C.
