摘要: For the first time a model for age-related bone loss has been developed from prospective data utilizing new weighted least squares method. Two hundred and sixty-eight Caucasian women ranging in age 50 to 95 were studied. A quadratic function best fit data, correcting body weight width reduced variance. The derived equation is: mass = (0.6032) (bone width) (cm) + (0.003059) (body weight) (kg) - (0.0163) (age 50) (0.0002249) 50)2. Analysis of cross-sectional on 583 similar showed with very coefficients. This predicts an increase after 86, therefore 42 over 70 who had followed at 2.5 yr identified test this effect. these, 13 significantly positive regression coefficients age, rate change was 40 individuals, which 5 significant. Since photon absorptiometry measures net changes all envelopes, most likely explanation observed is early exponential endosteal ultimately slows or perhaps stops. There balance periosteal envelope only becomes apparent later years when These statistical methods allow development models collected irregular intervals. used are applicable other biological prospectively.
