Identification of polypeptides associated with the 23 and 33 kDa proteins of photosynthetic oxygen evolution

摘要: Abstract An immunological approach was used for nearest-neighbor analyses the 23 and 33 kDA proteins of oxygen-evolving complex. Functional Photosystem II particles with a simple polypeptide composition were partly solubilized detergent incubated monospecific antibodies against either or kDa protein. SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis revealed that immunoprecipitates, apart from antigenic proteins, also contained polypeptides at 24, 22 10 kDa. In contrast, light-harvesting core complexes showed very poor coprecipitation proteins. The not precipitated by if had been removed prior to solubilization. These observations demonstrate close association between None these any manganese. It is suggested are subunits complex involved in binding extrinsic inner thylakoid surface.
