摘要: The evolution of diversity across the animal kingdom has been accompanied by tremendous gene loss and gain. While comparative genomics fruitful to characterize differences in content highly diverged species, little is known about microevolution structural variations that cause these first place. In order investigate genomic impact variations, we made use transcriptomic data from nematode Pristionchus pacificus, which established as a satellite model Caenorhabditis elegans for biology. We exploit fact P. pacificus diverse species various including draft genome sister exspectatus available. Based on resequencing coverage two natural isolates identified large (> 2kb) deletions duplications relative reference strain. By restriction completely syntenic regions between exspectatus, were able polarize comparison assess expression levels. found while genes correlates with lack expression, duplication virtually no effect expression. Further investigating individual copies at sites segregate duplicates, majority cases only one be expressed. Nevertheless, still find certain classes are strongly depleted well duplications, suggesting evolutionary constraint acting synteny. summary, our results consistent model, where most either deleterious or neutral provide insights into genome.
