摘要: The ability to couple high-resolution specimen imaging with chemical state analysis allows problems in biology and medicine be approached a novel powerful way. Element specific can performed at tunable synchrotron X-ray sources through core level absorption spectroscopy, number of methods have been developed routinely use this technique the microscopic scale relevant cellular phenomena. A diverse range biological specimens has studied MEPHISTO spectromicroscope, some results are discussed here. examples used illustrate spectromicroscopy obtain certain results, such as semi-quantitative element detection, elucidation or mapping. Essential practical considerations also emphasized, including sample preparation, sensitivity interferences between elements, complementary analyses.
