摘要: Abstract In vitro test methods may be vital in understanding tobacco smoke, the main toxicants responsible for adverse health effects, and elucidating disease mechanisms. There is a variety of ‘whole smoke’ exposure systems available generation, dilution delivery smoke vitro; these can procured commercially from well-known suppliers or bespoke set-ups. These technologies aim to ensure that there are limited changes aerosol generation exposure. As freshly generated, interactions fractions captured any subsequent analysis. Of systems, some have been characterised more than others terms published scientific literature developed biological endpoints. Others relatively new field still establishing their presence. addition, widely used offer flexible approach challenges this review, authors present summary major critically review function, set-up application scenarios. All whole benefits limitations, often making it difficult make comparisons between set-ups data obtained such diverse systems. This where dose measurements add value able provide platform on which made. The measurement dose, as an emerging research, therefore also discussed how valuable additional support existing aid validation efforts.
